Intersection Improvements for Racetrack Road at Iris Lake Road The intent of this invitation is to obtain competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors for improvements to the intersection of Racetrack Road at Iris Lake Road in Henry County. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to fulfill the terms and conditions of this bid. Bids will only be considered by those bidders and subcontractors currently pre-qualified with the Georgia Department of Transportation. All Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid for the complete work. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Henry County, Georgia as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) calendar days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract. The Bid Bond shall be in the form of a surety issued bond made payable to the Henry County Board of Commissioners. The Surety Company shall be licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of "A" with a financial size of VI "6" or better. Payment will be made monthly on completed work. Retainage will be held by Owner to a maximum of ten percent (10%) of each progress payment. The Bidder is expected to examine the site(s) of the proposed work, the Proposal Form, Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions and Contract forms before submitting a bid. Qualifications of the Bidder will be reviewed before Award of the Contract. The Work on this project shall be completed within two hundred forty (240) calendar days after receipt of the written Notice to Proceed. All work shall be completed in accordance with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications Construction Of Transportation Systems, 2021 Edition (as amended). Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the time and date set for closing, except as allowed by OCGA. Henry County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive any technicalities.
