The following shall be referenced on all correspondence and in the subject section of the email, "Invitation To Bid No. 22-013: Polk Road Milling and Resurfacing Project." All questions must be received no later than, 5:00 p.m. August 10, 2022. All responses to questions/clarifications, if deemed necessary by the County, will be sent to all prospective Respondents either electronically, by facsimile or in the form of an addendum, if applicable. No questions will be received verbally, and/or, electronically after the deadline. Bid Bond 5% The work of this contract generally consists of pavement milling and resurfacing for 4.0 miles of Polk Road in Hardee County, Florida. The Contractor shall mill the entire 4.0 mile roadway to an average depth of 2 inches. The millings shall be transported by the Contractor to the Hardee County Landfill at 685 Airport Road, Wauchula, Fl. The project includes approximately 51,000 square yards of milling, 10560 Tons of asphalt and placing 16,750 square yards of sod along the edge of pavement, and associated drainage and pavement marking and signing. The roadway/project shall be left in a neat and clean condition. All workmanship and materials shall be in conformance with the Fl. Dept. of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction (2020) (excepting Division 1, Section 9 regarding fuel adjustments and Price Escalation) and the FY 2020-21 Standard Plans. Contractors submitting bid proposals must be FDOT Pre-qualified and must obtain bid documents from the Engineer for bid to be considered. Contractors submitting bid proposals must submit proposals on all work items in the contract to be considered a responsive bidder. The Bid Bond, Public Construction bond and specified insurance are required to be secured from or countersigned by an agency of the surety or insurance company, which agency shall have an established place of business in Florida and be duly licensed to conduct business therein. The County reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid; to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, with or without cause; to adjust the quantities for budgetary purposes and/or to accept the bid that is judged to be in the best interest of the County.
