All bids must be accompanied by a cashiers check made payable to the Borough of New Milford or a duly executed bid bond with a recognized surety company for at least the sum of 10% of the amount of the bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract if the contract is awarded to said bidder.The full amount of such deposit shall be returned within ten (10) days following the award of the contract covered by such specifications or the rejection of the bid of such person or corporation. Further, the successful bidder must furnish to the Borough of New Milford certificates of insurance as required by the contract documents. The Borough will not assume responsibility for proposals forwarded by mail. It is the individuals responsibility to see that the proposals are presented to the Borough Clerk on the hour and at the place designated. Proposals and modifications received after the time set for the bid opening will not be considered. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.A.C. 17:27 and N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq. A valid business registration certificate must be supplied with the proposal. No bids may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. The Mayor and Council of the Borough of New Milford reserve the right to waive any informalities in, or to reject, any/or all bids as may appear in the best interest of the Borough of New Milford.
