Site work for a water / sewer project in Visalia, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Following the feasibility study, the headworks influent gates will need to be replaced and/or the structure repaired. The two headworks influent gates are detached from the concrete, leaving large amounts of water flowing passed the gates even when they are closed. Based on estimates and best industry practices, it is believed that a very large pump-around will be needed to re-route the raw sewage flowing through the gates in order to make the necessary repairs. The rental of equipment and hiring of additional staff continuously during the project make up the bulk of the costs budgeted. This project is in included in the City of Visalia FY 2022/23 & 2023/24 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of August 2, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
