As of April 17, 2023, an engineer has been selected and confirmed. Further details regarding design has not been established but estimated to take eight to ten months to be submitted to EPA. A firm timeline for construction has not been established but expected to take about two years. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Focus is on three functions of the plant - adding primary equalization aspects, replacing the disinfection system and improving tertiary treatment.
Plans include adding a one million-gallon tank to hold stormwater flow, and replacing the aging chlorine gas system that treats e-coli bacteria and the filter system through which suspended solids pass. As required by Ohio Revised Code 153.65-73, responding firms will be evaluated and ranked in order of their qualifications. Following this evaluation, the City of Twinsburg will enter into contract negotiations with the most highly qualified firm.
