SUMMARY OF WORK a. Project Location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Iowa at Medical Research Center, 501 Newton Road, Iowa City, IA. b. The Constructor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment necessary for, and incidental to, construction of this project as indicated on Drawings dated July 28, 2022. c. Work shall include everything requisite and necessary to finish work properly, notwithstanding that not every item of labor or materials or accessories required to make project complete may be specifically mentioned. d. General Description of Work: 1) Project consists of the replacement of the water softeners and deionized water system components as shown per the plans, including electrical connections for new equipment. 2) Alternates: None 3) Allowances: None 4) Unit Prices: None e. Work by Owner: 1) Temperature Controls. The Contract Time begins on the day the Constructor receives the Notice of Award, unsigned Form of Agreement, Performance Bond and Payment Bond, and Subcontractor List Form. Bidder agrees to Substantially Complete project Work within Two Hundred Ten (210) calendar days from the receipt of the Notice of Award and shall have no more than fourteen (14) days to complete all items on the Punch List and achieve Final Completion. Targeted Small Business (TSB): The certified Iowa TSB participation goal for this project is 10 percent (10%) of the Base Bid. This establishes the amount that should be reported on the Final Payment Reporting Form as part of the TSB Program. Bids shall be accompanied by and secured only by a cash deposit, a cashier's check, a certified check, or a bid bond in an amount of at least five (5) percent of the bid. Bids accompanied and secured by any other form of bid security shall automatically be disqualified. A copy of the check or bid bond shall be scanned and uploaded electronically. Apparent low bidder shall deliver original check, if applicable, to Design & Construction no later than 24-hours after bid opening. Simultaneously with the delivery of the executed Contract by the Contractor, the Contractor shall furnish a Performance and Payment surety bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum - as security for faithful performance of the Contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials for the work, or pursuant to Institution Requirements, evidence of eligibility for waiver of the bond requirements.
