The City of Placentia seeks competitive proposals from qualified civil engineering firms to prepare engineered improvement plans, bid documents, and technical specifications for the construction of the master-planned streetscape improvements in Old Town Placentia. Old Town is the City's historic core with the oldest buildings dating back to 1914. In 2017, the Placentia City Council adopted the Old Town Placentia Streetscape Master Plan which outlines the planned streetscape improvements for the Old Town neighborhood. The master plan calls out for new wider sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle amenities, new street and sidewalk lighting systems, monument signs, decorative pavement, and new landscape improvements. In addition, drainage improvements as well as new ADA-compliant curb ramps and pervious crosswalk pavers, off-street parking lot improvements, and alley improvements are envisioned as well. The professional services for this project require a full-service civil engineering firm with experience in designing streetscape improvements and the ability to deliver a wide range of services and assemble a qualified sub-consultant team to provide all associated landscape architecture services, electrical system design, storm drain analysis along with bidding and construction assistance (including but not limited to shop drawing review and responses to requests for information) and preparation of a complete Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) package.
