Location and Description: The Gray Head Peak Restoration project is located approximately 26 miles southwest of Duchesne, Utah. The site is in the Gray Head Peak area of Avintaquin Canyon. Elevation range is from 7,600 to 8,200 feet within the project site. Some of the cutting may be on steep slopes. Approximate Acreage: +/-760 acres. Acreage is determined with computer software and is two-dimensional. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to bid accordingly. Access to the site:Access onto the project site is provided by a combination of paved highways and jeep trails. Four (4) wheel drive vehicles will be needed to reach the project site and for travel on roads within the project area. The access road is rutted, has a downhill grade going to the project site, traverses a steep slope, and can be slick when wet. The road could be impassable when wet. The majority of the project (main project area of 695 acres) can be accessed by four wheel drive vehicle, but the two smaller project areas (50 acres and 15 acres) to the north will be foot access. These two smaller project areas (access by foot) are approximately 1 mile to the north of the larger project area). It will be the contractor's responsibility to get personnel and the equipment to the work site. The contractor may begin work at any time after the contract is awarded, after coordinating with the project manager. Once the contractor is on site working, the contractor shall work diligently and must complete all work by September 20th, 2022.
