Job No. V-91-022-22, Phase II Bridge Improvement Project, FAI 290 at Loomis Street and Racine Avenue Structures, Cook County, Region One/District One. This project requires 23% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Complexity Factor for this project is 0.035. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on October 26, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase II Engineering services are required for the preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for two bridges along I-290 at Loomis Street and Racine Avenue in Cook County. The primary purpose of this project is bridge deck repairs including deck overlay, joint repairs, and beam wrapping of Racine Avenue over I-290 and superstructure replacement at Loomis Street over I-290. The Scope of Work will consist of superstructure replacement of Loomis Street over I-290 including replacing the entire superstructure and approach slabs, substructure repairs, new west wingwalls, widened approach bents, and replacing all bearings. Additionally, traffic signal updates, resurfacing at Congress Parkway and Van Buren Street intersections, lighting, widening pedestrian accommodations, and ADA compatible sidewalk ramps are proposed along Loomis Street. The Scope of Work along Racine Avenue over I-290 includes bridge deck repairs, concrete surface overlay, adjusting cross section, joint repairs, beam painting, widening of sidewalks, traffic signal updates, resurfacing at the Congress Parkway and Van Buren Street intersections, lighting, reconstructed medians, and ADA compatible sidewalk ramps. The completion date for this contract will be 18 months after authorization to proceed.
