These Mechanical and Controls Renewal projects would replace many major mechanical and control system components located in the research laboratory facilities at UC Santa Cruz. From qualified Executive Design Professionals to provide Design Engineering services for the following proposed projects: Earth and Marine Sciences (E&MS) Mechanical and Controls Renewal Natural Sciences Two (Nat Sci 2) Mechanical Renewal Thimann Laboratories (Thimann) Mechanical and Controls Renewal These Mechanical and Controls Renewal projects would replace many major mechanical and control system components located in the research laboratory facilities at UC Santa Cruz. At present, the University would like to utilize the Design-Bid-Build project delivery method, however, the University is open to all project delivery methods, including Design-Build delivery. Based on the qualifications presented in response to the RFQ, the University will select the Executive Design Professional best suited to provide services for this project. Principal criteria for selection will be based on demonstrated experience with comparable projects of similar size and complexity. These projects are funded through Construction Phase at this time, with an anticipated construction budget of $4M - $5.5M total. The University will evaluate the Executive Design Professional's performance at the completion of schematic design services, reserving the right to expand the contract into construction, and may consider utilizing this team to continue if delivery method is changed. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Interested Executive Design Professionals will be required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) and other documentation demonstrating related experience using standard forms provided by the University. The tentative schedule for completion of review of Statement of Qualifications is Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
