Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Bloomingdale Park District is seeking sealed bids for the following scope of work at Westlake Park, Bloomingdale, Illinois. The scope of work includes all necessary workmanship to satisfactorily complete the work consisting of HMA asphalt paving overlay of existing gravel, removal and replacement of various asphalt pedestrian walkways, and installation of concrete pads as outlined by the contract documents. All bids must be submitted on the forms included in the bid documents and accompanied by an electronic copy of a certified bank draft, or a bid bond from an accredited surety company - payable to: Bloomingdale Park District for an amount equal to 10% of the bid submitted. All contracts for work herein are subject to the provisions of all Bloomingdale Park District regulations. To the extent that the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act applies, Contractor must pay and require all subcontractors to pay the prevailing rate of wages to all related laborers, workers, and mechanics involved in the project. The Contractor shall prominently post the current schedule of prevailing wages at the Contract site and shall notify immediately in writing all of its Subcontractors, of all changes in the schedule of prevailing wages. Any increases in costs to the Contractor due to changes in the prevailing rate of wage during the terms of any contract shall be at the expense of the Contractor and not at the expense of the Owner. The change order shall be computed using the prevailing wage rates applicable at the time the change order work is scheduled to be performed The Contractor shall be solely responsible to maintain accurate records as required by the prevailing wage statute and to obtain and furnish all such certified records to the State of Illinois in the manner specified by the Statute and Administrative Regulation. The Contractor shall be solely liable for paying the difference between prevailing wages and any wages actually received by laborers, workmen and/or mechanics engaged in the Work and in every way defend and indemnify the District against any claims arising under or related to the payment of wages in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act. The Contractor, before commencing the Work, shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material (aka Payment) Bond. The Performance Bond shall be in an amount equal to 100% of the full amount of the Contract Sum as security for the faithful performance of the obligation of the Contract Documents, and the Labor and Material Payment Bond shall be in an amount equal to 100% of the full amount of the Contract Sum as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing materials in connection with the Contract Documents. Such bonds shall be on standard AIA Documents, issued by the American Institute of Architects, shall be issued by a surety satisfactory to the Owner, and shall name the Owner as a primary co-obligee. The cost of the bonds is to be included in the Bid. The Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will become a part of the Contract. Each Bidder shall list the name of the surety company that will be furnishing the Bonds on its Bid. The failure of a Bidder to list the name of its surety company on its Bid shall be a non-responsive bid. The failure of the successful Bidder to enter into a Contract and supply the required Bonds within ten (10) calendar days after the Notice of Award or within such extended period as the Owner may grant if the forms do not meet its approval shall constitute a default, and the Owner may either award the Contract to the next responsible, responsive Bidder or re-advertise for bids. A charge against the defaulting Bidder may be made for the difference between the amount of the bid and the amount for which a contract for the work is subsequently executed, irrespective of whether the amount thus due exceeds the amount of the bid guarantee. All bids will remain firm for 90 calendar days after the bid opening. The Bloomingdale Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid, which in its judgment, will be in the best interest of the public or to waive any informalities in bidding. Only bids in compliance with the provisions of the Contract Documents will be considered. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the bid date opening. The Bloomingdale Park District encourages small and minority businesses and womens business firms to submit bids on the approved project and successful contract bidders to utilize small and minority businesses and womens businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
