The Novato Fire Protection District ("District") is seeking bids for the removal and installation of five (5) generators at five of the District's six (6) locations in Novato, CA. A. Scope of Work 1. Confirm load lines and conduit are large enough to accommodate new generators. 2. Evaluate current Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) according to specifications and service life. Recommend replacement by location. Leete Generators, the maintenance contractor for the generators, and the reseller for the generators, recommends ASCO Series 300. 3. Any necessary permits from the County of Marin in addition to the "Authority to Construct" BAAQMD permits which are in process by Leete Generators.* 4. Remove old generators and dispose of them. a) The District is currently researching selling the current generators to a company out of state, but since this piece of the project is not confirmed please bid on removal/disposal. 5. Install new generators immediately after removal of old generators. a) Specifications and drawings for each generator are attached hereto as Attachments 1 and 2 respectively. *450 Atherton Av is in unincorporated Novato and therefore permitting is through the County of Marin. B. Out of Scope 1. Delivery of the new generators to the site. 2. Drain diesel fuel from six (6) tanks. 3. Drain oil from six (6) tanks. 4. Increase footprint of concrete pads according to drawings. 5. Fueling of new generators and adding fluids. 6. Start-Up and Commissioning of generators. C. Timeline for Delivery of Generators at each Novato Location Contractor shall schedule to start removal of the old generator immediately upon execution of the Agreement. It is imperative that the new generators be installed immediately after the old generator is removed, and if a concrete pad needs to be replaced by another contractor, immediately after the new concrete pad is completed. Temporary generators will be installed by the District. Penalties will be imposed upon the Contractor by District for delays that are not caused by acts of God, strikes, equipment or transmission failure or damage reasonably beyond the Contractor's control.
