The Owner intends to retain a Construction Management firm to join the project team during the Design Phase and to continue through the Construction Phase, occupancy, and warranty period of the project. The Owner is requesting submissions from firms who can demonstrate they have resources, experience, and qualifications to provide Construction Management Services for the project. Submissions to the Request For Qualifications (RFQ) for Construction Manager at-Risk (CMaR) services for the UIHC - John Pappajohn Pavilion - L7-L10 - Vertical Expansion of Inpatient Unit project at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, shall be received electronically by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, Facilities Management, Design & Construction, prior to 2:01 p.m. local Iowa time, on the date listed within the RFQ. The UIHC - John Pappajohn Pavilion - L7-L10 - Vertical Expansion of Inpatient Unit project includes an expansion of John Pappajohn Pavilion through the additions of two floors: Level 9 and Level 10 to the existing building. New Construction to be a vertical expansion of the existing tower and includes Level 9 for a 24 Bed ISS/Intensive Care unit and level 10 to become a new mechanical penthouse serving the floors below. The project will fully renovate existing level 8 mechanical spaces and relocate with new equipment to level 10. Renovation of existing Level 7 to become an 18 bed postpartum unit. Level 7 West (west of JPP elevators ) renovated to 8 LDR and 1 OR (C-Section ) Suite and on-call rooms. Level 8 to become a new 18 unit Postpartum Unit. This project scope will include: The project consists of building a new two-story structure on top of the existing eightstory John Pappajohn Pavilion comprising an additional approximately 38,000 square feet. This project includes renovation of two existing levels: Level 7, comprising approximately 33,000 square feet, and Level 8, comprising approximately 19,000 square feet. Renovated space shall include new delivery and post-partum OB/GYN care spaces. A new intensive care unit will be located on the new Level 9 and a mechanical penthouse will be located on new Level 10. The construction will be phased to accommodate current hospital operations.
