Question Cuttoff Date & Time 8/29/2022 02:00:00 PM (ET) Contractor to provide all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the project indicated below. Contractor to remove and dispose of existing damaged pipe and install new 4" DIA., Schedule 40 PVC set in compacted granular fill to DOT 4131 (GRADATION NO. 29). This includes removal of the concrete slab with new 6 inch, 4000 PSI F'C concrete. Contractor to excavate roughly an 140 Sq Ft area of existing concrete in driveway to expose where a break in the piping has been detected by a sewer camera allowing a constant flow of clean ground water into line. Leak was located 3'6" below concrete surface. -Contractor to make necessary pipe repairs to stop leaks. -When placing backfill, use DOT 4123 or existing subgrade soils excavated in 8 inch lifts, compacting to 95% at optimum moisture content. -Replace rock fill under/above piping. -Reinstall new 6 inch thick, 4000 psi, concrete reinforced with#=5 epoxied rebar at 24" o.c. each way; doweling into adjacent slab cuts a minimum of 9 inches. Light broom or screed finish. Install over clean granular fill such as DOT 4121; compact to 95% Standard Proctor density at optimum moisture content. DOT estimated start date is to begin after bid award September 9/2/22 and with completion as close to October 1, 2022 as possible. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered.
