Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Lorton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The construction of this project will require compliance with Fairfax County's Prevailing Wage Ordinance (Ordinance). By submitting a bid, Bidder acknowledges and certifies that their bid is in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Ordinance in Section 01300. The work shall include but may not be limited to the following: 1. Installation of a complete odor control system including ductwork; 2. Replacement of instruments, valves, actuators, conduits, electric equipment inside the two Septage Receiving Facility Tanks and at the surrounding site; 3. Installation of a pre-fabricated Waste Manifest Building and modification of the existing Control Building; 4. Installation of a stormwater diversion swale and associated yard inlet and piping; installation of the spill containment trench drain and piping; all erosion and sediment controls requirements; 5. Installation of electric ductbank; 6. Roadway, curbing, sidewalk, or other existing site repairs; and demolition to accommodate all of the above and as detailed in the Contract Drawings Only firms that have been pre-qualified will be eligible to submit bids for this project. Bids received from those that have not been pre-qualified will not be considered All bidders shall comply with Article A-21, Fairfax County Construction Safety Resolution. Bidders request for determination of eligibility to bid must be received by the County no later than fourteen (14) days before bids are due in accordance to Article A-18.E of Section A, Information For Bidders. The Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI)-furnished list of Prevailing Wage Rates that is included at the end of this advertisement is being provided for Information Purposes Only. The Owner makes no representations or guarantees with respect to the accuracy, validity or applicability of any data included in the referenced list. The Successful Bidder shall certify their wage rates to the Owner and to the Commissioner of Labor and Industry upon award of the Contract and in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Ordinance This is a Lump Sum price contract. Contract length is 510 calendar days. All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Wastewater Design and Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 463, Fairfax, VA 22035-0056, or by emailing dpwescapwastewatertreatmentinquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov. To be given consideration, questions must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be disseminated Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening thereof. The procedure specified under Section 2.2-4330(A) (i), VA Code Ann. shall apply the bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County.
