The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Detroit District is seeking information on potential sources and feedback on the product requirements as identified under the project description paragraph. This Sources Sought Notice will be utilized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District to establish a list of sources interested in the Grand Haven North Pier Wave Attenuator project. Interested sources are encouraged to respond. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be set-aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project site is located on the North Pier at the mouth of the Grand River in Grand Haven, Ottawa County, Michigan. The North Pier was first constructed in the 1800's and has been modified numerous times over the structure's life. The structure including its revetments is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The North Pier spans approximately 1,400 feet and consists of a concrete cap supported by steel sheet pile walls which enclose the original timber crib structure. The purpose of this project is to demolish a section of the harbor's north pier to allow for the construction of a rubble mound wave attenuator. Once demolished, construction of a wave attenuator and making repairs to existing sections of the north pier will be needed. Additionally, construction of a re-routed walkway along the crest of the required wave attenuator will be needed. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which has a small business size standard of $39.5 million.
