Renovation of a residential development in Lawrence, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority will receive bids for the purchase, removal and installation of a new roof replacement and replacement of 3 HVAC units, located at 1600 Haskell Ave. Lawrence, Kansas 66044. Requesting a General Contractor with the capacity to obtain all permits necessary to be in code compliance with all city and local codes. Roof must be replaced with a TPO and insulation factor must be brought up to code compliance. All warranty information should be specified with proposal. Additionally, work to be completed will include replacement of 3 Carrier HVAC package units, and replacement of the fence surrounds with PVC privacy fence or similar low maintenance options. Scope also to include facilitation of any electrical, plumbing, or other trade work that may be needed to complete scope and must be code compliant. All bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than 5% of the amount of the bid. The bid guarantee may be a certified check, bank draft or bid bond secured by a surety company acceptable to the US Government. Certified checks and bank drafts must be made payable to the Housing Authority. Successful bidder shall furnish a Performance and Payment Bond for 100% of the contract price, prior to execution of the contract. The Contract is subject to Federal Labor Standards, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 and Chapter X of the Code of the City of Lawrence. All work relating to the specifications of the Bidder's Package requires the payment of Davis-Bacon Wage Rates and wage sheets will be required as included in the contract documents. The Contractor must have an affirmative action program to ensure that applicants and employees are treated equally without regard to their race, sex, religion, color, national origin, age, ancestry, familial status, sexual orientation or disability. The Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities or informalities therein No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Housing Authority. The Housing Authority may reject any or all bids and waive any informalities in the bids received. Minorities, Section 3 Contractors and Woman Owned Businesses are encouraged to bid.
