Renovation of an educational facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested services, to submit bids to enter into an agreement to provide the modification/renovation of Van Sickle Middle School, 1170 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104, for a life skills classroom and for the dedicated entrance for a program operating within the school This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other procurement statutes. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $100,000.00. All questions regarding this bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than September 8, 2022 by 4:00 P.M. (hbutton@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer or designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. DESCRIPTION OF WORK A. The Work of this Section applies to all Work performed under the Contract. B. Any discrepancies found in the Contract Documents after signing of the Owner-Contractor agreement must be brought to the attention of the Architect for resolution. The Architect will determine which document entry governs and his decision will be final. The Contractor will not be entitled to a change in the Contract Time or Contract Sum on the basis of discrepancies found after signing of the Owner-Contractor agreement. C. Should conflict be evident between Contract Documents or within any Contract Document, the Contractor is deemed to have estimated the more expensive method of doing the Work unless he shall have asked for, and obtained, a written decision prior to submittal of bid or price quote, as to which method or materials will be required. Should the Work proceed after the discovery of errors, conflict, or omission by the Contractor and clarification has not been received from the Architect, the Contractor will be held fully responsible for replacement or correction, as directed by the Architect, at the Contractor's expense.
