The City of Cape Coral is initiating the Request for Proposals (RFP) process to solicit proposals from qualified respondents to provide uniform guidelines and submission requirements in the acquisition of professional services for the design of the North Utilities Complex - UCD Admin/Warehouse Facilities. It is the intent of the City to select and contract with one design firm. This solicitation is to comply with the Florida Statute 287.055 Consultant's Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). The City of Cape Coral is planning the development of the Utilities Collection and Distribution (UCD) - Administrative Office and Warehouse Facilities at the North Utilities Complex located at 1220 Kismet Parkway West. The new UCD Admin Facilities are required for the purpose of providing expected levels of service to residents of the City as water, irrigation and sanitary sewer utilities are extended to areas of the City north of Pine Island Road through the Utilities Extension Project (UEP). Improvements for the UCD Admin Building and Warehouse Facility at the North Utilities Complex include but are not limited to the following: 1. UCD Admin Building - 20,000 SF (Two Stories) - Designed for hardening and resiliency up to Category 5 Hurricane - Includes reception/receiving area, customer service area, offices, copy/media room, break room, locker rooms, showers, metal shop area, meter repair shop, exercise area, UCD Server/Communications room, IT server room, maps and file storage, conference/training room, kitchen, backup generator, provision for alternate EOC facilities, and ancillary facilities. o Bulk storage for construction materials (road base, fill, pipe bedding materials, etc.) - 8 bays min. o Parking area for UCD customers, UCD employees, and UCD City vehicles. o Parking/Storage areas for UCD Equipment ("bread trucks" with trailers) - 30 spaces min. o Vehicle wash area. o Outside storage areas. o Dumpster areas. o Site access roads. 2. UCD Warehouse - (1 Story) - Initial 20,000 SF expandable to 60,000 SF - Designed for hardening and resiliency up to Category 5 Hurricane - Includes office area, shelving for small item storage, floorspace for large item storage, covered entry for pickup/delivery, office, and bathroom. o Outside covered storage area. o Outside pipe storage area. o Outside large item storage. o Security fencing with gates. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. 3. UCD/Public water fill station. 4. Space set aside for future cell tower. 5. Access roadway improvements. 6. Surface water management areas. 7. Potable water and fire protection system. 8. Sanitary sewer gravity collection system, lift station and force main. 9. Provision of electrical service for buildings/facilities. 10. Fiber Optic communications system.
