The intent will be to award the contract as soon as possible, to the qualified bidder submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. Work includes but is not limited to interior renovations and upgrades to the existing Fire Station 20 and Fire Station 21 restroom and shower areas. It is the intent of the Owner to have Station 21 be completed in a first phase with Construction to begin no later than October 17 and overall substantial completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) days of notice to proceed. Final Completion to occur within thirty (30) days after substantial completion. Once substantial completion is approved for Station 21, the second phase would start with Station 20 construction. Overall substantial completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) days of notice to proceed. Final Completion to occur within thirty (30) days after substantial completion. The base bid will be the total of both stations as one package. The bid form requires the contractor to break out construction bid for phase one Station 21 and phase two station 20. It is the intent of the owner to award this contract to a single contractor for both fire stations. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid sum shall accompany each bid.
