Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.

As of December 8, 2022. This project was awarded to the FF: Electric - Tra Electric - $35,550.00 Mechanical - PBCI-Allen Mechanical & Electrical - $252,614 Contract No. 2022-01 consists of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system upgrades at three facilities located within Mifflin County - Lewistown Senior Citizen Center, Derry Township Senior Citizen Center, and Shelter Services, Inc. Contract No. 2022-02 consists of Electrical System Upgrades to the Shelter Services, Inc. in support of HVAC upgrades. Work under these contracts shall include all materials, equipment, supplies, and labor for the construction as shown and specified in the Contract Documents. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check made payable to Mifflin County Commissioners in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. In the event the Contract cannot be awarded within the specified period, a time extension may be granted by mutual agreement between the Owner and the selected Bidders. Successful Bidders will be required to complete all work within one hundred and fifty ( 150) calendar days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Davis-Bacon wage rates and other federal requirements apply and are included in the bid documents. Bidders must comply with all State anti-bid-rigging regulations pertaining to work associated with this project and will be required to submit an executed Non-Collusion Affidavit with the bid. Location- Lewistown Senior Citizen Center 515 Knepp Ave, Lewistown, Pa 17044, Derry Township Senior Citizen Center 15 E Mill St, Yeagertown, Pa 17099, Shelter Service, Inc. 13 Depot St, Lewistown, Pa 17044 The Owner is utilizing federal funds for this project, and Mifflin County's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds administered by Mifflin County Planning & Development Department (Grantee), has adopted a Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) plan in accordance with Executive Orders 11625, 12138, and 12432 and a Section 3 Action Plan in accordance with Title 24 Part 135 Code of Federal Regulations. As such, the bidders/offerors must submit documentary evidence of minority and women business enterprises and Section 3 business concerns who have been contacted and to whom commitments have been made. Documentation of such solicitations and commitments shall be submitted with the bid. Moreover, the CONTRACTOR shall strive to meet the MBE goal of 5% and the WBE goal of 3% for contracts of $25,000 or more. The Section 3 Action Plan applies to contracts of $100,000 or greater and requires the CONTRACTOR to strive to meet the minimum participation level of 10% of the contract amount to be awarded to Section 3 business concerns, and 30% of all new hires shall be Section 3 residents. MBE/WBE and Section 3 business concerns shall be afforded full opportunity to bid without discrimination. The Contractor, in accordance with Executive Orders 11625 and 12138, must utilize to the greatest extent feasible minority and/or women owned business concerns, which are located within the municipality, county, or the general trade area. Attention is called that according to the requirements of Executive Order 11246 the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap; that a mandatory ratio of apprentices and trainees to journeymen is required in each craft and the Contractor (and any subcontractors) is obliged to make a "diligent effort" to achieve these ratios; and that to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment be given to lower income residents of the project area and must to the greatest extent feasible utilize project area businesses located in or owned in substantial part by project area residents. The Mifflin County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any proposal in the interest of Mifflin County Bid Results Electric - Tra Electric - $35,550.00 Mechanical - PBCI-Allen Mechanical & Electrical - $252614
