West Pierce Fire & Rescue is currently receiving supportive materials from qualified architectural firms engaged in the lawful practice of their profession to us for our review. This process is meant to help us select a firm best situated to help us determine the design and costs associated with several projects that we intend to run simultaneously in the near future. Supporting materials requested and due by end-of-day on September 26, 2022 may include, but are not limited to: a brief introduction and background of your personnel; photos or drawings of previous projects of similar scope; and testimony of support from previous clients. Our intended projects include: The remodel of existing Fire Station 24, located at 8310 87 th Ave SW, in Lakewood, WA. Update the interior to make it more functional and to add an addition to the building to more closely meet the current trends of fire station construction. The new addition to include state-of-the-art washing and storage facilities for fire fighter bunker gear, a physical training room, and storage room. The design and construction of a new Logistics Facility on the same property as Station 24. The Fleet Maintenance Division, the Facilities Maintenance Division, and Central Stores for our Lead Purchasing Agent will all be housed in this facility. A separate fire pump testing pit will also be constructed on this site for use by Fleet Maintenance. Exterior vehicle storage canopies are also included in the mission of this build. The demolition of existing training tower and design and construction of new training campus at Fire Station 21, located at 5000 Steilacoom Blvd. SW in Lakewood, WA. Demolish the existing 50 year old cement training tower, design and construction of new training campus, broadening the scope of training possible on this site. The design and construction of a new fire station. We have not yet procured a site for this facility but we anticipate it being at least a three apparatus bay fire station with supporting offices, dorms, and meeting facilities.
