The purpose and scope of this solicitation is to establish an annual contract for the purchase and removal of scrap metals collected at GRU warehouses and various GRU locations on an as needed basis. Normal GRU scrap metal currently consists of aluminum wire and cable, bare copper wire and cable, insulated copper wire and cable, scrap steel, scrap iron, streetlights and stainless steel. By utilization of the dumpsters provided GRU intends to roughly separate scrap metals into categories which are listed with the corresponding grades in the American Metal Market as applicable.
