Replace Field Safety Net East Los Angeles College 1301 Avendia Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park CA, 91754 (Located in the Los Angeles Community College District) The Los Angeles Community College District is required to inform our vendor/ contractors of the recent passage of Senate Bill 96 which became effective on July 1, 2017. Per the passage of the new law, the District must now require all vendor/contractors performing construction, alteration, demolition, installation or repair work of $25,000 or greater and maintenance work of $15,000 or greater to register with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) utilizing its on-line application registry link located at http://www.dir.ca.gov/Public-Works/ PublicWorks.html. Further information may be obtained from the DIR website (Labor Code 1725.5(f)). All Bidders are hereby notified that the Los Angeles Community College District has a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) in effect and if applicable to the project all contractors and subcontractors bidding on the project will be required to comply with the PLA (if applicable). Attention of bidders is called to the provisions concerning bid guarantee in the Bid Form, the contract bond requirements, and the Districts Policy and Affirmative Action requirements concerning discrimination against employees in the Contract Conditions. Pursuant to the Labor Code of the State of California, the California State Director of Industrial Relations has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the contract or contracts which will be awarded to the successful bidder or bidders. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom a contract is awarded, and upon all subcontractors under him, to pay not less than said general prevailing rates of per diem wages to all workmen employed in the execution of the contract. The contractor to whom a contract is awarded shall file payment (material and labor) and performance bonds in the respective stipulated amounts. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in any bid. Pursuant to Section 4590 of the Government Code of the State of California, the contract will contain provisions permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any moneys withheld by the DISTRICT to ensure performance under the contract. The existing baseball field perimeter barrier netting was installed in 2014 and portions of the netting have been replaced since. The existing system is a fixed installation, with approximately 73,000 S.F. of netting attached to 27 existing 24" diameter steel poles roughly 75' in height, and spaced approximately 50' apart. Each section of netting is made of approximately 15' tall panels that are connected horizontally by rib lines. The first panel starts immediately above a 10' high chain link fencing. The outfield enclosure spans slightly more than three-quarters of the field perimeter with an open gap at the north side of the field.
