Site work for an educational facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
This initial stage of construction of the UofU Applied Science project if for the Site Preparation and Utilities work. This package is comprised of complete excavation, site shoring, and site utilities. The excavation activities will be for placement and installation of all below grade site utilities and new Applied Sciences building footprint to the level of the new concrete footings, and for the constructability of these elements. There is a need to provide structural site shoring, this design will be performed as a deferred submittal. In addition to the excavation for the new Applied Sciences Building and new utilities for the addition and the existing Stewart Building, this work will include any required existing irrigation modifications and tree protection; existing electrical power demolition, light pole removal for future reinstallation, and new underground utility conduits for power and data and their associated in-grade pull boxes and manholes. It has been determined the new Applied Sciences Addition and the existing Stewart Building Remodel will be designed as two separate buildings, thus all the new utilities and services have been designed to accommodate this requirement.
