For a lump-sum contract are invited for the following work: 5482 POWER ISLANDING AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AT DERCONNECT CORE BUILDING UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN DIEGO DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The proposed Power Islanding and Electrical Equipment at DERConnect Core Building project is to construct an approximately 2,100 square feet experimental research facility, located on UC San Diego East Campus, North of Existing East Campus Utilities Plant and South of Voigt Drive. The research facility will be broadly accessible to the research community as a testbed of methods, tools, and datasets to evaluate distributed control algorithms for the electric power grid. This project will establish a grid connected, customizable, and dedicated power test system, linked with communication system, and operate in grid connected and island modes and allow real time remote access. This research facility will house large electrical infrastructure such as inverters, super capacitors, switchboards and protective relays, battery energy storage, and other electrical equipment. Estimated Project Duration is 365 Calendar Days. The following electrical subcontractors have also been prequalified: ELECTRICAL SUBCONTRACTORS DYNALECTRIC COMPANY MAC GC-ELECTRIC ROD FULLER ELECTRIC CORPORATION Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: B- General Building Contractor The Contractor will be required to execute Assignment Agreements for the University procured equipment. UC San Diego encourages the participation of Small, Disadvantaged, Minority-owned, Women-owned and Service/Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (S/D/M/W/DVBE's) and is committed to promote a diverse pool of firms for our building programs. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. Contractors and subcontractors must use the DIR's upgraded electronic certified payroll reporting (eCPR) system to furnish certified payroll records (CPRs) to the Labor Commissioner. Contractors and subcontractors who have been submitting PDF copies of their CPRs for earlier projects must also begin using the new system. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
