Site work for a civil project in Katy, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project involve rehabilitation of 2 steel water tanks located at 27515 Highway Blvd. (US 90) in Katy, Texas. Tank No. 1 is an existing 1,000,000 gallon welded steel ground storage tank that is to be blasted and coated inside & out. Typical mechanical repairs are planned, and the work also includes the replacement of a large section of the tank floor and underlying materials. Tank No. 2 is an existing 500,000 gallon elevated water tank, multi-column style. This tank is to be blasted and recoated inside & out, and typical mechanical repairs will be performed. Neither tank is painted with lead-based primer or paint. Contract time is 240 calendar days, which must be adhered to as this is a major water production facility for the City of Katy. NTP is estimated to occur on 11-1-2022. The ground tank must be placed back in service by May 15, 2023. Work of the contract includes the rehabilitation and improvements to the City of Katy's 1,000,000 gallon steel ground potable water tank and the City of Katy's 500,000 gallon elevated potable water storage tank at Water Plant Number 6, located at 27515 Hwy Blvd Katy, TX 77494. Both tanks original construction was circa 2002. This is the first rehabilitation of these tanks since installation. The work also includes recoating of yard piping and a building on the site, and includes safety climb devices at three other nearby elevated water tanks in the City of Katy.
