The Commissioners of Public Works of the City of Charleston, South Carolina d/b/a Charleston Water System (CWS or Owner) is requesting interested pre-stressed concrete tank rehabilitation and repair Contractors to respond to indicate interest in the opportunity to provide all labor, material, and equipment necessary for the construction of the project (the Project). The Scope of Work to be performed for the Project includes, but is not limited to, the following construction requirements: 1. Installation of all required safety equipment necessary to allow for personnel access into the confined space to perform cleaning and repair. 2. Cleaning and removal of accumulated debris and other materials from Clearwell No. 3 to establish a clean and safe area for work to be performed inside of the clearwell, including possible pumping of leak-by flow from clearwell isolation valves. 3. Removal of existing baffle curtains, and all associated anchoring devices, systems, and hardware for the existing baffle curtains. 4. Installation of new anchoring devices, systems, and hardware for new baffle wall curtains. 5. Installation of new baffle wall segments and suspended baffle water curtains, including a new concrete wall between the clearwell influent and effluent pipes. 6. Cleaning and disinfection of Clearwell No. 3 prior to returning the clearwell to service. 7. Perform all necessary bacteriological testing prior to returning Clearwell No. 3 to service. Please direct all questions to Chad Atwater. A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) may subsequently be solicited to Contractors that submit a statement of interest by the deadline stated above. The RFQ will be used to identify contractors with the requisite experience, qualifications, and resources to complete the Project successfully in accordance with project requirements that will be specified by the Owner. Bids for this project will only be accepted from Contractors who have submitted a statement of interest and who have been prequalified for this project through the RFQ process. The Owner will not accept bids from Contractors who fail to submit timely statements of interest or applications for prequalification or from Contractors who fail to prequalify.
