This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by Central Connecticut State University (hereinafter referred to as "University" or "CCSU") seeking proposals from experienced and qualified vendors to furnish comprehensive snow removal, sanding and ice melt services at CCSU's Main Campus and Charter Oak State College (hereinafter referred to as "COSC") and CCSU's downtown campus at 185 Main Street, New Britain (hereinafter referred to as "ITBD") and the Early Learning Program (herein referred to as "ELP") at 1285 East Street, New Britain. This RFP is issued under the provisions of the Connecticut General Statutes 4a-52a and 10a-151b. Questions may be asked of the CCSU Facilities Department representative during the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Any questions not answered completely by the facilities representative at the pre-bid meeting can be forwarded by contractors. The interested contractors must submit questions via email to RFP2@CCSU.edu. The outside cover of the package containing the proposal shall be marked: RFP 2023-01 To Provide Snow removal, Sanding and Ice Melt Services, submitted by (Name of Contractor). Contractor agrees to provide all labor, materials, equipment and supplies to provide Snow Removal, Sanding, and Ice Melt Services at CCSU in accordance with the following specifications. CCSU will use Weather Works for official verification of snow fall accumulation. The Contractor is responsible for purchasing a yearly subscription to weatherworksinc.com and submitting a detailed snowstorm analysis on a per storm basis. All proposals must include a point-by-point response to this RFP. Each response must be crossreferenced to the corresponding item in this RFP and described in as much detail as possible. Failure to respond to all points may be grounds for rejection. Likewise, failure to supply any information required to accompany the proposals may cause a rejection of the proposal as non-compliant. The University reserves the right to request additional information and/or presentations, if clarification is needed. Proposals that do not substantially conform to the contents of the bid request, consequently altering the basis for proposal comparison, may be disregarded and considered as unresponsive.
