Renovation of a multi-residential development in Houghton, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Bids are invited upon the several items and quantities of work by a single prime contractor as a lump sum contact as follows: Item 1. Apartment and Common Area renovations as indicated in the Drawings - General Trades. Item 2. Apartment and Common Area renovations as indicated in the Drawings - Electrical Item 3. Apartment and Common Area renovations as indicated in the Drawings - HVAC/Plumbing and Heating, etc. Item 4. Apartment and Common Area renovations as delegated design/installation - Fire Suppression. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of City of Houghton, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Attention is called to the fact that Davis Bacon Wage Rates are not required, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The City of Houghton reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Houghton for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. A firm fixed-price contract award will be made in writing to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The City of Houghton reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding.
