Renovation of an educational facility in Mesa, Arizona. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Ishikawa Elementary School complete tear-off of existing tile roof and install new per Architect drawings. This project includes removal of ACM materials, cement tiles and 30 lb felt to plywood. Repair any damaged plywood and trusses, laydown 1 core underlayment and then dimensional shingles. Base bid to include 100 - 4'x8' sheets of 5/8" plywood roof sheathing and install 50 - 2x6x8' roof joists. Question Submission Deadline:October 18, 2022, 10:00am Question Response Deadline:October 20, 2022, 10:00am The initial term of the Contract shall be one (1) calendar year from the effective date of Contract Award. A contract under this bid will be awarded to a single vendor. The award will be limited to the least number of offerors that the District determines is necessary to meet the needs of the District. This project will be completed within 12 weeks from the time of construction start date. Contractors shall note that the work must be completed and a Certificate of Final Completion issued within 14 weeks from the construction start date. Failure to do so will result in liquidated damages. A surety bond, provided from a surety company licensed by the State of Arizona, payable to MESA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT #4 for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid must be uploaded to ProcureNow in the Questionnaire section as a guarantee that the Contractor will enter into a contract to perform the bid in accordance with the plans and specifications or as liquidated damages in the event of failure or refusal of the Contractor to enter into the contract. The low vendor will be required to mail, or hand deliver the original bid bond to the buyer in 48 hours after the bid due date and time. The original bond will be returned to the successful bidder upon the execution of satisfactory performance, payment bond, and contract, as prescribed by Arizona Revised Statutes. The bid will not be considered valid if the required original bid bond is not received by the buyer in 48 hours. Cost of bid bond must be included in bid price. If the submitting vendor is providing a certified or cashiers check this must be submitted and received by the buyer prior to the bid opening. This Solicitation is for a construction project that is expected to exceed $100,000. Pursuant to the School District Procurement Code, the District requires the following for the Solicitation: Contractor shall be liable for and shall pay District the sum of $1,500 per day as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, for each calendar day of delay after the date specified in the Solicitation or any extension thereof granted by District for completion of work until the work is complete. Contractor shall pay liquidated damages to District without limiting Districts right to terminate the Contract for default as provided elsewhere herein. District shall grant an extension for completion of work if the work is delayed for an unforeseeable cause beyond the control and without fault of Contractor and Contractor notifies District in writing immediately in writing of the cause of the delay and provides sufficient information for District to determine whether an extension is justified. The District shall determine whether an extension is justified in its sole discretion. Scope of Work: 1. Tear off existing tile roof, battens & mineral surface roofing membrane down to the decking. Asbestos Abatement of roofing mastic is required. See Inspection Report and Specification Section 02 82 13. Install new shingle roof system. 2. Tear off existing cricket roof system and install new system. Flash and counter flash walls. 3. Replace damaged roof sheathing & roof joists and modify top plates of existing shear walls as indicated on drawings. 4. Cut existing head wall flashing below stucco system and install new metal flashing per detail included in this Project Manual. 5. Modify side wall flashings per detail included in this Project Manual. 6. At stage vent hatches, replace damaged plywood sheathing & joists. Remove flashings and replace with new flashings. 7. Install new drip edges to match color of existing facias. 8. Remove existing vent lead flashings and existing hood vents and install new sheet metal flashings. Color to match new shingle roof color. 9. Replace existing gutters and add new gutters where indicated. Tie into existing downspouts. 10. Provide Unit Costs for additional or fewer sheathing and joist replacements.
