Polk County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, requests the submittal of bids from vendors that are interested in providing sidewalk repairs and replacements as described herein. Provide the necessary labor, material, equipment and supervision to provide concrete sidewalks repairs and replacements to various locations throughout Polk County Attached are important instructions and specifications regarding responses to this Bid. Polk County has numerous sidewalks, driveways, and curbs repair and/or replacement projects identified throughout the county. Currently the county budgets $220,000 on an annual basis for sidewalk repair and/or replacement sidewalk. In addition, existing sidewalks along county roads are brought up to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards when the road is resurfaced. The ADA standards require the installation of truncated domes on sidewalk ramps and the elimination of sidewalk trip hazards. The county currently budgets $532,000 on an annual basis for ADA improvements (which may include sidewalk improvements). These annual budgets may vary from year to year based on available revenue and other competing priorities.
