The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is seeking detailed proposals from one or more qualified Proponents to finance the design, manufacture, installation, maintenance, management, and operation of a multi-sport dome. The purpose of the RFP is to identify one or more propoents that would enter into a land lease partnership agreement with the town. The Town reserves the right to delete any portion of the work from the contract should it be deemed in the interest of the town to do so. Ballantrae Park is located at 5592 Aurora Road in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, east of Highway 48, west of Ninth Line and just north of Musselman's Lake Community. The total size of the park is 85,334.73 m2 (8.53 ha / 21.08 acres) in size and includes tablelands and falls with the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan Area. Primary access to Ballantrae is from Aurora Road. The Ballantrae property is bordered to the east by a low-density residential neighbourhood, to the north by Ballantrae Golf Club, to the west by environmental lands, and to the south by the agricultural and environmental lands. The existing amenities at Ballantrae Park include picnic area, baseball diamond, tennis courts, soccer fields, open area, Community Centre, Field House and parking. The air-supported structures will be implemented as part of this Community Park Development. Please note to meet the needs of the dome proposal the Town recognizes that some of the active amenities (i.e., baseball diamond, soccer fields, etc.) may require relocation by the Town.
