** As of December 21, 2022, project will rebid, no definite date for the rebid.** The project primarily consists of the removal and disposal of damaged baffles, installation of 4,700 linear feet of new floating baffles including removal of damaged floating baffles, placement of the new floating baffles, connection to the existing intermediate guideposts, and connections to the existing shore anchor and end posts. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly licensed and qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing City for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. Prior to the award of a competitively bid contract to a contractor having one or more employees in the State of Alabama, Alabama law requires that the contractor provide the City proof of enrollment in E-Verify and to execute a certificate of compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer And Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535), as amended by Act 2012-491. Regardless of employment in the State of Alabama, proof of enrollment in E-Verify shall be provided. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Utilities Board of the City of Chickasaw.
