Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Crosby, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The work in this contract is for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operations Building for Newport Municipal Utility District (NMUD) located at 1501 South Diamondhead Boulevard. The purpose of this project is to construct a new operations building for the NMUD WWTP which will replace the former operations building that was flooded, deemed inhabitable, and leveled to the existing slab after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. With the aid of funding reimbursement from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the finished floor of the operations building will be elevated out of the 500-year floodplain (35.3 feet). The approximate elevation of the existing slab is 24.12 feet and the 100-year (base) flood elevation for the WWTP site is approximately 28.73 feet. Per the 2017 Regulations of Harris County, Texas Floodplain Management, the approximate finished floor elevation for the Operations Building was for 31.73 feet. Furthermore, NMUD will seek reimbursement from FEMA to raise the building an additional 6.57 feet from the 31.73 feet. Therefore, based on the current Regulations of Harris County, Texas for Flood Plain Management, effective July 9, 2019, the proposed finished floor of the new Operations Building shall be elevated to 38.3 feet (500-year Elev. + 36); therefore, protecting the critical facility from future floods.In general, the work consists of installing a new operations building in the same location as the former operations building. Work Items include: Demolition and removal of existing concrete sidewalk adjacent to the existing slab as directed on the plans. Installation of 3-inch PVC Water Line, including bends and fittings. Disinfection and testing shall be completed by the contractor. Tie in into the existing 6-inch PVC water line with a 6-inch by 4-inch tapping sleeve valve, 4-inch valve, and valve box with 4-inch by 3-inch reducer. Installation of 3-inch backflow preventer with insulated enclosure and concrete pad. Installation of 3-inch water meter on the proposed 3-inch water line. Cut, drain and plug existing 1.5-inch PVC water line. Installation of 4-inch sanitary sewer, including connection to the existing sanitary sewer manhole. Removal and disposal of existing 4-inch sanitary sewer line. Installation of structural elements which includes concrete piers, steel reinforcement, exterior improvements, parking elements, walkways, ramps, stairs, concrete masonry unit blocks, steel support beams, slabs, steel columns, and metal deck for the roof assembly. Installation of amenities which includes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and finishes. The interior finishes include flooring, walls, insulation, studs, painted gypsum board, and cabinets. Grade natural ground for positive drainage to existing storm sewer inlet. Site restoration of disturbed areas by the construction of the operations building.
