Renovation of a residential development in Newton, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Work shall be in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by J. Michael Lee Associates, Inc. and dated July 18, 2022. The scope of the work will include new new exhaust fans, medicine cabinets, plumbing upgrades, and lighting upgrades in various units on Florence Street and Edna Street. Proposals shall be submitted on forms included in the specifications or copies thereof and shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of 5% of the bid. Checks shall be made payable to the Newton Housing Authority. If plans and specifications are not returned or if a bona fide bid is not submitted, the deposit will not be refunded. Subcontractors and material suppliers may obtain whole or partial sets of plans and specifications by paying the cost of reproduction and mailing. Refunds will not be made on such sets. All bidders must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama 1975. Licensing required by local municipalities shall be obtained prior to the execution of construction contract. Bidders must include with their bid the Proposal Form, Bid Bond, Representations, Certificates and other Statements of Bidders, Non-Collusive Affidavit, Previous Participation Certification and Certification of Bidder Regarding Equal Employment Opportunity, E-Verify Affidavit, each signed by the Bidder. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the time and date set for bid opening. The accepted bidders will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, both in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. The cost of the bonds shall be included in the proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities.
