The Yellowstone Irrigation District is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for repair of its bank stabilization structure along the Yellowstone River near Hysham, MT. The project will require placing an estimated 900 cubic yards of large native stone rip-rap on the structure to replace stone that was removed by record high flooding in 2022. The proposal should include provisions for locating, transporting and placing all materials. All stone and other fill materials must come from a source that is approved by YID and certified for use by Montana DEQ and by the Montana State Historic Preservation Officer. Proposals should also include the type of equipment that will be used and a description of how rock will be placed on the bank to assure that it is resistant to loss due to high water and ice. In addition, bidders should include a proposal for bioengineering work on the rip-rap structure that would consist of placing a 6 inch layer of 2" minus pit-run gravel on the completed rip-rap followed by hydroseeding with an erosion resistant material and including seeding with native grasses, forbs and shrubs. Bidders should include a resume of experience in working with bank stabilization in a river setting. Time is of the essence to complete this work to prevent further damage by high water in the spring of 2023. Bidders should indicate the time when work could begin and an estimate of time required to complete the project. Bids should be on a percubic-yard basis for delivering and placing the rock and must include the gravel and hydroseeding as a component of the per-cubic-yard price. Total cubic yardage for the project is only an estimate. The proposals will be evaluated, a qualified bidder determined and the successful bidder notified with 5 working days of that date. All proposals must include surety made in favor of Yellowstone Irrigation District for 10% of the total proposed cubic yard price multiplied by the estimated total 900 yards will be required prior to entering into a contract. The Board of Directors of the Yellowstone Irrigation District will award the project to the best qualified bidder. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to accept the bid which best serves the needs of the Yellowstone Irrigation District
