The project is described on the signed and sealed construction plans titled as "C 470 Sidewalk Improvement from CR 461 to CR 439", August 2022. This project includes the construction of the sidewalk at the east side of C 470 between CR 461 and CR 439. This project also includes installing detectable warnings and pavement markings, as well as miscellaneous landscaping services, as per the signed and seal plan set. Upon submission, all bids will become the property of the BOCC, who has the right to use any or all ideas presented in any packages submitted in response to this ITB, whether or not the bid is accepted. The Selection Committee shall meet on November 14, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. in the Training Room located at 319 E. Anderson Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 to review and discuss the bids. The Selection Committee's recommendation will be presented to the BOCC on November 22, 2022. Note: all prospective bidders/respondents are hereby cautioned not to contact any member of the sumter county board of county commissioners staff or officials other than the specified contact person. The Sumter County Board of County Commissioners (COUNTY) reserves the right to accept any bid whether it be the lowest bid or not, or to reject all bids and call for new bids. The project will include 90 calendar days of construction time beginning on the date identified in the notice to proceed (NTP) to final completion. Final completion means all contract items have been completed, including items dependent on curing periods. The Contractor and Owner recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that the Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified in the Scope of Services. The parties also recognize the delays, expenses, and difficulties involved in proving in a legal or arbitration proceeding the actual loss suffered by the Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, the Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), Contractor shall pay Owner $882 each day that expires after the time specified in the Project Time for final completion.
