Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Penticton, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 1,000-square-foot, one-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

BC Wildfire Service currently has facilities in Penticton for the Kamloops fire centre. Currently, the Penticton Fire Zone is without the facilities ensuring fire line staff have adequate drying space for fireline clothing and related gear on base. The current set up provides not enough drying space for the need of an expanding base, with no space for alternatives in existing buildings. In addition, there is a need for expanded fitness training space, and space for required off season fitness equipment storage per CPPM 8.3.2. The purpose of this tender is to construct a building that allows the installation of an adequate drying room facility, providing the Penticton FZ appropriate space for drying fireline clothing and gear/equipment, and to provide both fitness training space and seasonal storage for fitness equipment to protect government assets from the elements. Scope The ministry requires the services of a general contractor to undertake the construction, delivery and installation of a new drying room and exercise area building at the fire zone. This ITT calls for the new construction of a 93 sq m (1000 sq ft) single-story wood framed building structure that shall include foundations, concrete aprons, canopies and gutter, all exterior and interior finishes including insulation, electrical & mechanical equipment and accessories. The contractor shall provide full construction, delivery and installation of the new building in accordance with the objectives set above and the drawings and specifications attached. The contractor must also provide the following: Issue of certified structural drawings based on the IFC set Site preparation: Potential land clearing Grading Compaction Engineering survey Full construction, delivery, and installation of the new facility The contractor shall be responsible for managing the subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, and involving them throughout the project, start to finish, from design through construction. The attached drawings and specifications describe in detail the extend of the works. Electrical services: New electrical service connection, cables and conduits shall be part of this scope of work. Conduits shall be installed to accommodate for final connection and installation. This contract shall call for the connection and installation of a new service panel in the new building as well as security system with door position, exterior/interior lighting system, power to mechanical equipment, supply and installation of mechanical equipment, power and data infrastructure and lighting and power cabling.
