** As of November 9 2022, no bids were received. ** The Town of Onley is seeking bids from responsible licensed and insured contractors to install a commercial filtration system (pump, filter and electrical) at the McMath Park water feature. Please contact Jamye Salazar at 757-787-3985 or jsalazar@townofonley.org for an information packet. The Town of Onley has the right to accept/deny any and all bids. Pump The purpose of the pump is to (a) aerate the water and (b) drive water through the filter. The standard is to size the pump to turn the whole pond over in one hour, in this case a 1200 gph pump. We would like to quadruple this recommendation with the install of a 4500-4800-gallon capacity. Filter The filter has two jobs. It filters detritus mechanically. It develops a microorganism population that consumes the algae that turns the water green. Filter should be appropriate to the size of the pump. Filter should be pressurized and have pump pressure internally. Dig a box to submerge the filter and electrical controls under a lid of attractiveness.
