ILDOT - 004 - Smart Overlay Project on IL Route 21 IL 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) is a four-lane principal arterial roadway located in the Village of Glenview in Cook County. The project extends along IL 21 from Glenview Road to 400 ft north of Kennicott Ln. The gross length of this improvement is 4,200 feet (0.79 mile), the net length is 3,948 feet (0.75 mile). The IL 21 corridor is under the jurisdiction of District 1 of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). This is a SMART overlay project and the scope of work to be performed for this project consists of pavement patching, combination curb and gutter removal and replacement, drainage structure adjustments, ADA ramps, hot-mix asphalt surface removal, resurfacing with hot-mix asphalt surface course, replacing the raised median with a striped median, updating guardrail terminals, placement of Accessible Pedestrian Signal posts, detector loop replacement, placement of thermoplastic pavement markings, raised reflective pavement marking installation and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the improvement as shown on the plans and described herein.
