Highland Recreation Complex Generator Installation. The City of Largo is soliciting proposals from qualified licensed firms for the installation of a new standalone 500KW 625 KVA, 480Y/277volt 3 phase generator with automatic transfer switch and a 72-hour capacity diesel fuel tank to power the entire Highland Recreation Complex so it can be utilized as an emergency shelter. Based upon the actual Duke Energy recorded load for the building, compensation for motor starting current from the as-built drawings, plus some spare capacity, the load calculations result in the following: Recommended Selection: 500 KW/625 KVA, 480Y/277 volt, 3 phase. The generator will be located outside, near the existing electrical room, inside a 180MPH wind speed rated, missile impact rated, critically silenced enclosure, with an in-base fuel tank. The tank will be sized for 72 hours of fuel capacity running at 100% of rated load. Stairs are recommended for easier access up to the generator due to the tank height. A new 1600 amp, 3 pole, 480-volt, automatic transfer switch (ATS) is required. The ATS will be located outside and will replace the existing generator docking station. The existing Main Switchboard EDP will be field modified to remove the tie bus between the main breaker and tie breaker. Field modification is required to be performed by a Schneider Electric (Square D) factory service group. The load side of the main breaker output will be re-routed with a new 1600-amp feeder to the new ATS. The new generator will feed the emergency side of the ATS. The load side of the ATS will feed into the line side of the tie breaker, using the existing 1600-amp feeder from the demolished docking station.
