Renovation of a multi-residential development in Monroe, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
ANY PERSON REQUIRING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION SHALL NOTIFY MONROE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE TYPE(S) OF ACCOMMODATION REQUIRED NO LESS THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS BEFORE THE BID OPENING. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternatives and must be made in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond written by a surety company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and signed by the surety's agency or attorney-in-fact. The Bid Bond shall be in favor of Monroe Housing Authority and shall be accompanied by an appropriate power of attorney. No Bid Bond indicating an obligation of less than five percent (5%) by any method is acceptable. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount. The surety must be listed currently on the U.S. Department of Treasury Financial Management Service List (Treasury List). Bidder must verify the listing of surety through Monroe Housing Authority's contract administration office. The Treasury List can also be accessed online. All bidders and proposers shall make good faith efforts to subcontract, to the greatest extent feasible, to small business concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged businesses. Bids shall be accepted from contractors who are licensed under LA R.S. 37:2150-2173 for the classification of Mechanical Contractor. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after receipt of bids. Attention is called to the provisions for an equal employment opportunity, and payment of no less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the specification must be paid on this project. Monroe Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids for just cause per State Public Bid Law or to waive any informality in the bidding. Work of the Contract can be summarized by references to the Contract, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, Specification Sections, Drawings, addenda and modifications to the contract documentsissued subsequent to the initial printing of this project manual and including but not necessarily limited to printed material referenced by any of these. It is recognized that work of the Contract is also unavoidably affected or influenced by governing regulations, natural phenomenon including weather conditions and other forces outside the contract document. The intent of these contract documents is to, as indicated per the plans and specifications, remove, and replace the two existing domestic water heaters, provide new water heater/boiler flue exhaust and the miscellaneous electrical, piping and associated changes and modifications in support of these system component changes. Cooperation within this Contract is imperative. Each subcontractor involved in this project shall: A) cooperate with all other trades and Monroe Housing Authority Personnel; B) coordinate work; C) notify all concerned before beginning any phase of the Work; D) provide access to its work at the various stages of construction as required; E) confer with all other trades to ascertain that their work is in place; F) protect work of other trades during all phases of operations
