Trinidad Vehicle Storage Facility Remodel Qualified General Contractors (GCs) are invited to bid on the remodel of an existing 4,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building Vehicle Storage Facility (VSF) at CDOT's existing maintenance yard at 10291 County Road 69.3 in Trinidad, CO. The 6-bay VSF building was built in 1982 and was damaged in a vehicle fire in 2008. The structure has subsequently been evaluated by Richard Weingardt Consultants, Inc. and deemed acceptable for re-use. The 6-bay VSF is flanked on each end by an addition: a 780 square foot Brine Room on the south, and a 730 square foot Office on the north end. Except for minor work noted on the plans, these additions are to be protected from damage and to remain as is, and are not part of this project. The remodel project will divide the existing 6-bay building into a 2-bay wash bay and a 4-bay vehicle storage area with an office and restroom. New building insulation, a new roof, and new interior finishes will be provided. A power upgrade will be required; there is an existing transformer close by on the site with adequate capacity for the upgrade. New sewer lines will be required to connect the vehicle bay floor drains to the existing sand and oil interceptor, as well as a new sewer line from the new restroom facilities to the existing sewer service downstream of the sand and oil interceptor.
