Site work and addition to a mixed-use development in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the addition of a 26,827-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The project consists of a two-storey addition with 8 learning spaces including corridors, an enclosed courtyard, a mechanical space, two stairwells, an elevator, and washrooms. The addition will be on the East end of the school and the connection to the main school is straightforward. Two portables are currently located on the Northeast side of the site, with playfields located to the East. One of these portables will be relocated on site, as will the existing watermain partially in conflict with the proposed footprint. The existing basketball courts will also be relocated further to the East onto the West end of the playfield. The existing SROW will require discharge and replacement with a new SROW to contain the relocated watermain. The perimeter of the proposed addition aligns with the north side drop off lane, allowing a minimum 1800mm walkway around the entire footprint. The addition will be sprinklered and connected to the existing building fire alarm system. An additional 36 parking stalls will be required by the City of Abbotsford for the new addition and will be constructed off the existing lane running north/south on the site. New parking may encroach onto the existing sports field and if so, will impact the irrigation and drainage of the field.
