Notice of Intent to Award Contract Monday, November 28, 2022 Deadline for Questions Wednesday, November 23, 2022 The City of Piqua reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities in a bid, or to accept the bid or bids which the judgment of proper officials, is to the best interest of the City. The City of Piqua reserves the right to accept a part or parts of a bid unless otherwise restricted in the bid. The City of Piqua is currently accepting bids for the above referenced project. The purpose of this project is to demolish the existing building and incidental improvements to ready the site for redevelopment. Contract and performance bond: Contractor shall execute a contract for the specified work at a total cost not to exceed and provide a Performance Bond equal to the total contract amount prior to a Notice to Proceed being issued or work commencing on this project. The Project is not subject to Chapter 4115 of the Ohio Revised Code regarding Prevailing Rates of Wages as the anticipated cost of work is less than the established threshold of $75,000. All deliveries or services must be in full accordance with specifications, properly identified with the contract/purchase order number and must not exceed the quantities or scope specified. The purpose of this project is to demolish the two story building to ready the site for redevelopment. Due to the fire damage the structure requires immediate demolition and an asbestos survey and abatement project is not possible and will not be performed. The successful bidder must be prepared to provide the submittals necessary to execute a contract by November 30, 2022 and complete work within 30 days thereafter. The demolition contractor will be responsible for complete removal of the existing structure(s), including the building foundation(s), all pavement surface areas, and other incidental improvements located upon subject property, and will be responsible for backfilling the site with suitable embankment materials properly compacted and graded, restoring the entire area within the work limits with topsoil, grass seed, and erosion control fabric.
