Renovation of a communication facility in Washington, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a communication facility.
As of December 19, 2022, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. For Public Safety Radio System Written Question Due October 13, 2022 2:00 pm A new 8-channel P25 Phase II trunked simulcast system (backward compatible for Phase I operation) to replace the Countys existing legacy radio system. The new systems design shall enhance the level of coverage signal strength so that a portable radio will work reliably outdoors. The number of channels specified above is for a single cell simulcast system. If the proposed design consists of more than one simulcast cell or additional sites, the number of channels will need to be determined by the Proposer and fully described the methodology to arrive at the proposed number of channels. Specific areas identified in Appendix B, Coverage Requirements Map, depict areas requiring in-building coverage. Radio configurations shall assume a portable radio carried on the users belt, with a radio-mounted antenna and a wired speaker microphone. The County currently uses a mix of County, local municipality, and leased sites to provide radio communications to first responders. County equipment is analog. All operate on very high frequency (VHF). Each site consists of different repeater stations and an antenna system
