Site work and paving for a civil project in West University Place, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
The City of West University Place is requesting bids for street and drainage improvements along University Boulevard from Buffalo Speedway to Kirby Drive. The project includes installation of 3,900 LF of storm sewer ranging in size from 18" RCP to 60" RCP, junction boxes and inlets. The project also includes removing and replacing approximately 15,000 SY of concrete pavement, including driveways, sidewalks and water line adjustments in the City of West University Place. Once the meeting begins, you will need to mute your phone or microphone in order to limit background noise. Bidders will be required to furnish verifiable references in the Statement of Contractor Qualifications with their bids/proposals. It shall be each bidder's sole responsibility to inspect the site of the work and to inform himself regarding all local conditions under which the work is to be done. It shall be understood and agreed that all such factors have been thoroughly investigated and considered in the preparation of the bid submitted. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. Upon consideration of the proposals the Owner plans to award a Contract; however the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all formalities and technicalities, and to accept any bid which it deems advantageous to the Owner. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, the Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation or recommendation of any bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond in an amount of 100% of the total contract price. This project will be federally funded by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department through the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and administered by the Harris County Community Services Department (HCCSD). Bidders shall comply with regulations governing the CDBG Disaster Recovery Program (Regulation 24 CFR 570). Applicable requirements include but are not limited to compliance with the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, Fair Labor Standards, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968, and contracting with small, minority, and disadvantage firms, as detailed in the project manual.
