City of Myrtle Beach will be receiving RFQ for construction services of a proposed stormwater ocean outfall project. This project consists of construction a double 84" deep-water ocean outfall to be extended approximately 1,300 LF into the Atlantic Ocean. RFQ documents may be obtained from the Procurement Office located at 3231 Mr. Joe White Ave., Myrtle Beach, SC. No late or electronic submissions will be accepted. The City is not responsible for late or misdirected mail. Questions regarding this RFQ must be submitted in writing via e-mail to bhancock@cityofmyrtlebeach.com. The deadline for questions is 5:00p.m. (local time) April 19, 2024. Official time of receipt of questions will be marked by the time the e-mail is received, and not by the time that it is sent. E-mail messages can take up to ten (10) minutes or more to be delivered to the intended recipient. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. The construction of this deep-water ocean outfall will begin at the existing drainage structures that are located on the east side of North Ocean Boulevard at the intersection of 24th Avenue North. The following is intended to provide an overview of the work to be performed: 1,300 LF of dual 84" PCCP culverts which will be buried to set invert elevations (approximately 6 feet to 8 feet to the top of the pipe) below the ocean floor along with various cross-sections of various layers of bedding and armor stone around the pipeline Installation of approximately 535+-LF of 72" RCP pipes Two (2) 12 foot by 24 foot collection water quality vaults Two (2) 6 foot by 8 foot concrete vaults Reconstruction of the existing street end and beach above the outfall pipe The City of Myrtle Beach seeks to obtain qualifications of licensed general marine contractors for the construction services of a proposed stormwater ocean outfall project. This project consists of constructing a double 84" deepwater ocean outfall to be extended approximately 1,300 LF out into the Atlantic Ocean with various onshore piping and vault components.
