Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 187,164-square-foot, three-story above grade clubhouse / community center; library; and parking garage.

Community Centre spaces: Lobby, atrium, and common spaces; Natatorium accommodating three stainless steel pool tanks and change rooms; Gymnasium accommodating two full sized basketball courts and a running track; Fitness centre; Program rooms (4 multipurpose, 2 active studio, 1 preschool room, 1 party room); Seniors lounge and snooker room; Youth lounge with media and meeting rooms; Indoor play area; Childminding area; Community and teaching kitchen (commercial kitchen) ; Music studios (4 studios); Café; and Staff administration area, additional distributed staff offices, and support spaces. On-site Demolition: Existing Cameron Recreation Centre and Cameron Library and associated site features. Library spaces: Lobby, general collection, and common spaces; Active lounges (2 lounge areas); Maker space; Reading room; Storytelling room; Meeting rooms (5 rooms); and Staff administration area accommodating material handling and support spaces. Building Support Spaces: Washrooms; Mechanical and electrical service rooms; Storage rooms; Janitor rooms and other back of house areas; and Below grade parking. Landscape & Site Works: Civic plaza over below grade parking structure; Site landscape including soft and hard landscape, and fitness/play equipment; Large rain gardens and existing bioswale enhancements; and Offsite street works and upgrades, including the widening of Cameron Street, a new multi-use path, rainwater management areas, and below grade services. TIMELINE: This project was publicly tendered for construction management and construction services (collectively, "Construction Management at Risk") and awarded. Site mobilization in September 2024.
